Tsuba Loves...Sascha Dive

Sascha Dive and his label Deep Vibes Recordings are among the most promising producers and labels in Germany. He's a truly unique producer with his own sound and style, a combination of early U.S.-American rhythms with a European slant. In this day and age of sampled & predictable loops, Sascha Dive (his real name!) has mastered the groove of house and in the process created his own unique sound. This collection brings together a selection of his own productions and stunning remixes. Enjoy!

Tsuba Loves...Justin Drake

Justin Drake is one of the unsung heroes of underground house music in the UK. Never one to play the game, Justin lets the music do the talking, and in an industry dominated by egos & blatant self promotion its a refreshing approach.

As one half of Peace Division alongside Circoloco resident Clive Henry, he's been responsible for some of the defining moments in underground house with tracks including 'Eh Oh Um', 'Feel My Drums' and the 'Junkyard Funk' album. His 'day job' is as engineer to some of the best known names in house music, so he knows a thing or two about good production.

Since Peace Division went their seperate ways in 2009 Justin has released a string of remixes and releases for labels including Tsuba, Fear Of Flying, NRK & Luna. This collection brings them all together and really shows the man's talent for creating his own unique sound  within the parameters of house music. Enjoy!

Tsuba Interviews Huxley

Continuing our celebration of 5 Years Of Tsuba we catch up with Huxley, who's 'Reflexions' track with Ethyl has been causing some serious damage on more discerning dancefloors:

1. Your favourite DJ and why?
Most recently i would say dOP. I saw them on new years day and they were class. They really impressed me, and I can't wait to see them again, and i don't really say that about anyone these days.

2. What track never leaves your box?
George Morel - Lets Groove

3. Best club in the world?
Not really been to that many globally to be honest. If it was still open it would have been the Key. Just because I wasted a lot of my younger years in that place. Always had a great vibe and can't recall having a bad night. These days, a bit cliche, but it would have to be fabric.

4. Current top 3?
1) Clapz II Dogz - The Rain - Glass Table
2) Steffi - Kill Me (Instrumental Dub) - Ostgut Ton
3) Evan Evans - Repetition (Art Of Tones Mix) - Instruments Of Rapture

5. Plans for 2011?
Well, at the moment just working on some new music. Got a few remixes coming out, along with a couple of tracks on some compilations for OFF, Suara and of course Tsuba. Also just finalized my EP for Morris Audio, which i'm very excited about! Apart from that just working hard and hopefully playing more.

6. Tip for the top in 2011?
Slow Hands, Jordan Peak or :Russo

7. Favourite Tsuba track?
Peace Division - Eh Oh Um

8. Best movie of all time?
hmmm...well It's probably a pick of two, Old School or Good Fellas. Both are absolute classics.

9. What's your ultimate meal?
tough one!! errrm....I'd probably have to say Mussels.  Can't get enough of the bastards. Nice bit of creamy sauce and some mussels are i'm in.

10. Tell us something we don't know about you?

I'm half Canadian (but I've only ever been there once).
